There are always excellent food venues available in Bagan. One of our favorites is this open air restaurant located on a hill above the Irrawaddy. Great grilled fish. And check out the view below...
Needless to say magnificent. Click on the photo and scroll through it.
We can't seem to keep out of crafts and antique shops. Faye is being served tea.
Lots of collectables. But, no way to get them home. Anyway, we have new lacquerware.
The Shwezigon Pagoda is actually very old. Originally built in 1089, it contains bones and hairs of Buddah. It is a major destination for religous pilgrims from South East Asia. It is gold, red and white - and beautiful.

The lime girl...
Worth a second look.
Another sight on the tour of Bagan is the lacquerware market
Another find for faye.
One last sight. Just below our hotel on the banks of the Irriwaddy is a thriving port. The size of the stock of large clay urns must mean that there is a pottery industry here. Something to look forward to visiting on our next trip to Bagan.
