The Lazise waterfront from a coastal ferry boat. Lazise is the most southern of the towns along the east side of Lago Di Garda. We almost missed it bacause of the hidden road linking the highway (about one kilometer to the east) to the waterfront area. We finally found the road and wended our way down to the waterfront to the far left of this photo. We parked in a convenient public parking area and walked in towards the developed area. One of the first buildings we came to had an elevated restaurant and bar located in the funny building with the cylendrical tower at the far left in this photo. We stopped for a glass of white wine, then a second. While sipping, enjoying the spectacular view, and conversing with the manager we discovered that they had six rooms for rent. The rest is history. We made this beautiful botique hotel our center of operations during several visits to Lazise. The hotel goes by the name Classique Chambers Restaurant, and has one of the finest restaurants we have ever eaten in. Check it out below.
View from our table on the restarant terrace.
And, from the breakfast table in the morning.
The start to a great day, every day. Marmaletta (filled with marmalade jam) crossant, orange juice, cappacino, assorted fresh rolls and pastries, and ham slices with cheese. Included in the room price.
An early morning look around, before the German tourists hit the streets. This is the little harbor.
Quiet without any tourists. They come out about ten o'clock in the morning.
The shopping is really great. Lots of botique shops with high quality stuff.
Including some hand-painted ceramics from Dureta.
While shopping (or doing anything!) there's always time for a gelato.
Time to climb on the ferry and head out to explore some more towns along the coast. Next stop is Garda.
