Dining Out in Tripoli
This is the remarkable Athar Restaurant, set right next to the grand Roman archway of ancient Oea.
Entry to Athar.
Seating available right next to history.
A particular specialty is lamb or fish cooked inside a clay pot. The pot is broken open by the waiter at your table.
A magic place to dine.
Right opposite from the Athar is an excellent Spanish restaurant - the Andalusia.
The greeting host awaits.
There is this inner courtyard that some visitors like. But, the real place to dine is above on the roof terrace.
And this is the amazing view of the world from your table.
I really love this time of evening here. This is my favorite place for dinner with family and friends.
The Ancient Zumat Hotel is a popular favorite for good Libyan food, especially seafood.
Here's the dining room. A little too early for the dinner crowd. Come back later...
This is the main dining room of the Al Waddan Hotel, one of the best four stars hotels in Tripoli. Excellent food here as well as in the several other dining venues in this hotel.
This food court is a more casual setting in the Al Wadden, but very hot due to its open roof.
This is the main food court in the Corinthia Hotel, the official government hotel for VIPs. A very posh place. There are at least five good restaurants here.
One of our favorites in the Corinthia is the Fez, a Morrocan would be. Nice atmosphere.
