Arco

Arco park and town center. Arco isn't actually on the lake, but is about 10 kilometers north of Riva, so we thought we would check it out. It was a pleasant surprise. First, check out the rock behind the town.

I have never seen a rock face so vertical. Goes straight up about a thousand feet. Lots of rock climbers playing around on the vertical face. There are three separate monasteries located at the top.

Arco is a very peaceful town, and is the location of choice for Italian retirement centers. There are at least five large centers for the elderly. Some very beautiful. The public facilities are excellent. Check out the playground with rubber padded floor and fun playthings. So civilized!

The main church afternoon look. Later there was a show of judo and karate put on by teams from all over the area.

Morning look. The coffee bar at the right is the center of action.

I am having my usual two cappacinos and marmalatta crossant . So civilized...!

Last look at the church and rock. Now we will head back to our operations center (Classic Chambers Restaurant) in Lazise for a final two days before leaving this beautiful Lago Di Garda. We are already planning our return trip!
